ORAL HEALTH FACTS
- Dental cavities are the most common chronic childhood disease.
 - Cavities are contagious and can be passed on from mother's cavity- causing bacteria.
 - Cavities are caused by frequent & prolonged exposure to sugar & bacteria.
 - Untreated cavities may cause problems with growth, learning, speech & socialization.
 - Cavities can result in costly emergency room visits.
 
CHILD CARE
- Brush your child's teeth with soft toothbrush and tooth paste with fluoride thrice a day, after very meal & before bed.
 - Under age 2 Year use small smear & for ages 2-5 Year use pea size toothpaste
 - Brush front & back of your child's teeth.
 - Make the child spit out the tooth paste after brushing.
 - Make your child eat healthy foods like whole green products, dairy products, fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, chicken, eggs, beans & nuts.
 - Avoid giving excess of sweets like candy, cookies or cake & sugar drinks like juice & soda.
 - Avoid bottle feeding at night.
 - Give water to your child several times a day.
 - Checks your baby gums & tooth once in a month. Looks for white/black spots. If you see white/black spots take to your baby to a dentist away.
